The Los Angeles Women's Music Festival
Celebrating women in music and the men and women who love them, the first annual Los Angeles Women's Music Festival will be held at Woodley Park, Encino, CA, on Saturday August 25, 2007, from 10AM - 6PM.

Featuring *Sophie B. Hawkins* and many other talented artists, the festival proceeds will benefit animal rescue. Pet adoptions, healthy food, great music, children's activities and fun for the whole family!

50+ Bands and Performers on 5 Stages

Gaia Global: featuring headline artists including Sophie B. Hawkins, Patrice Pike, Klymaxx, the uncanny Stevie Nicks Tribute band, Belladonna, and talented indie artists;

Females on Fire: featuring Warrior Girl artists Jamie Green, Little Sista, Holly Light, Deborah Bishop, Laura Bradley, Trysette and more;

Les Femmes: featuring female-fronted bands including Salon K, Bardo, Parade, teen bands from the Hollywood Rock Academy and more;

Moulin Rouge: featuring burlesque artists The Pin-Up Girls, world musician Zera, alterna-comic singer Nikki Katt, avant-garde acts, singer-songwriters and more;

SheJay: dance tent with fantastic female DJs including Sirsa.

Additional performers include SONiA of Disappear Fear, Janet Robin, Lady Tigra, Los Abandoned, Julia Othmer, Alex Edenborough, Hoopaliscious, Sassafrass, Danielle Lo Presti and the Masses, Alex Davis, Alissa Moreno, Amy Raasch, Two Loons for Tea, Yaelle Shaphir, Gayle Day, Gilli Moon, Miria and many more TBA!

Drum Circles, Open Mic and More
In addition, there will be an abundance of opportunities for artists and music lovers, including drum circles by REMO, hula-hoop dancing by Hoopaliscious, a Mini Recording studio brought to you by Guitar Center, and an open mic where artists can sign up on the day!

Healthy Food
Vegan, vegetarian and organic food vendors will provide a variety of healthy foods and treats. Eat in the picnic area or bring a blanket & picnic near a stage!

Children's Area
The festival is a welcoming environment for families, with performers and activities just for children. Free admission for kids under 5!

Feed your inner Goddess! Holistic beauty and healing treatments available all day in the Divine Lotus tent! This quiet healing arts area is a place to get a massage, aromatherapy, or herbal remedies. Relax on a floating bed, meditate with the sounds of a gong, get a cranial massage, get your toes painted, eyebrows threaded, or have a celestial reading. We'll also have guest speakers on all facets of healing / health / spirituality.

Panels & Workshops
As part of the day's festivities, there will be an Industry Tent with artist-friendly music industry panels and workshops, including a voice-coaching workshop with Jeannie Deva. Other panel and workshop topics include songwriting, music in film and television, touring, marketing and promotion. Meet, mix and mingle with other artists and music business representatives, under the glorious California sun.
